About the Speaker

Dr. Mithun has been teaching and conducting research work for over six years at the University of Kerala. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Aquaculture and Microbial Molecular Biology from the University of Malaysia Terengganu and an MSc in Aquatic Biology & Fisheries from the University of Kerala. Formally, he has served as an Assistant Professor at the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) and as a Research Scientist at the School of Applied Science, Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore for more than 2 years. His research interests lie in aquaculture engineering, particularly in the areas of aquaponics, recirculating aquaculture systems, and biofloc technology. He has also made significant contributions to the field of microbiology, focusing on ecology, probiotics, and natural products against fish pathogens. He has published 22 journal articles with a total citation count of 295 and an h-index of 8. Additionally, he has filed 3 patents/registered genes.
